For those of you that don’t know Mr. Lynch it’s one of our favorite venues to play in the North East. It’s located just outside of Newcastle and is easy to get to being close to Jesmond Metro Station or just a 10 minute walk from the centre of town. It’s got a great atmosphere, cool surroundings, an excellent choice of drinks and some of the regions top bands play there (obviously).

Our new website has had photo’s, demos, set lists, testimonials and just about everything else you’d want to see before booking a band. Everything but a video that is. But that’s changed with the arrival of this beaut!

The video was shot at Jesmond’s As You Like It, a great venue based just minutes outside Newcastle that’s prefect for weddings, birthday parties and corporate functions. We’d like to say a big thank you to the staff at The Apartment Group (Mr. Lynch, House of Smith, Madame Koo’s etc) for letting us use the venue.

We’d also like to say thanks to Phil Cleary and James Mcsloy who put the whole thing together from start to finish.

If at points you think the video has frozen don’t worry, its probably just a shot of our motionless bassist.

Saturday night was spent at Gosforth Civic Hall for a private function. Micaela’s 40th birthday party to be precise. It’s been years since we gigged at this great venue and we were happy to be back as it’s a really nice venue and the staff are always helpful. We had a good night and were made to feel very welcome. We thought we were the main attraction but realised this wasn’t the case when we realised Newcastle legend Peter Beardsley was in the house. The temptation to play New Order’s World in Motion during our DJ set was almost too great but we refrained. On reflection we weren’t just second to Beardsley, we were right down the bill having been blown away by Micaela’s old dance troupe, reformed after 10 years.

On Sunday we finished where we started, back at As You Like It. This time for Ava Mae’s naming ceremony. It’s not often we get asked to play at such events, in fact this is just the second in three years but it was a cracking gig that seemed to go down really well with everyone there.

The guys making the video are in the process of putting it all together. They’ve been tasked with the almost impossible job of making us look cool but we hope to have it soon. We’ll keep you posted.

Saturday night played host to  one of the most bonkers wedding we’ve seen. We traveled to Ellingham Hall, situated in the village of Ellingham, Northumberland. On arrival one of the staff informed us that a large part of the wedding party were Royal Marines and if last nights alcohol infused hot tub streaking was anything to go by then we were in for a rowdy night. His predictions were correct and we spent the night providing the soundtrack to one of the wildest parties we’ve witnessed. The midnight curfew quickly came and only when the power to the main hall was cut by the staff did the party roll out of the hall and into the rest of the house.

Sunday saw us back in the village of Annitsford, this time at The Irish Club or as it’s known locally; The Ranch. Admittedly it doesn’t take much to fill this small venue but that wont stop us boasting that the place was jam packed! We were worried that we wouldn’t pull a crowd having played the village just two weeks earlier but we were pleased to see the Annitsford massive out in force! Thanks to everyone that came along.
